Youth Opportunities
Building capacity within youth is a priority for New VU. There are several ways students can get involved in working with us.

Intern
On occasion we have hired College or University graduates to work with us on a special project. To do this we receive special funding that ranges from 6 weeks to 1 year in length. We encourage graduates to speak with us directly about their skills and interest in working with us.
Co-op or Placement
We are also open to working with high school/college/university students who are interested in doing a volunteer job placement for their own skill development. New VU is a great environment in which to learn while giving back to the community. We encourage students to speak with us directly about their skills and interest in working with us.
Volunteer
Throughout the year there are various opportunities to get involved in special projects and events. We often need an extra hand!
Since 2009 New VU has agreed to be a work partner for the Katimavik program - a federally funded, national wide program for youth between the ages of 17 and 21. Our Katimavik volunteers have assisted un in both our youth programs and professional development workshops, and have been trained on various outdoor education initiatives.
