In this foundational workshop youth are introduced to the key teamwork skills as they navigate their way through a dynamic series of activities. Group challenges are used to inspire a broader view of themselves and others. Youth will leave this experience energized about the feats they were able to accomplish together, with a greater appreciation for how diversity can strengthen a group, and with a new set of skills to integrate into their daily lives.
Value-based leadership training helps youth become aware of how they can use the values of honesty, courage, service, accountability, equality and mutual respect to inspire and support the people they lead. This workshop uses a hands-on approach to introduce and practice these valuable concepts.
When in crisis, youth most often turn to each other for support. This single or multi-day experiential program teaches youth the skills needed to provide effective relational support to their peers. Workshops include empathetic listening, effective communication, problem solving, recognizing risk factors, and finding help for peers in crisis.
In this popular workshop youth discover their personal talents and skills, then consider how they might use those to meet a need they see in their world. It is an ideal experience for young people searching for purpose. Workshops can range from a single day to a series of experiences that take place over the course of several months.
For most people conflict is considered a bad thing- a sign of failure or dysfunction. This perspective leads to the unnecessary breakdown of so many valuable relationships. This experiential workshop will help youth better understand the stages of group development as well as the root causes of conflict. They will be equipped with strategies to work through those stages including problem solving and mediation techniques that can easily be applied to social, work or family situations. Participants should be prepared for physical activity, group discussion, problem solving, and role plays!
This workshop delivered in partnership with Global Youth Network involves a series of experiences designed to help participants explore issues related to injustice, poverty, and the environment within Canada and around the world. Depending on the length and type of experience it could also include experiences regionally, nationally or internationally. Whatever format is chosen, participants will be introduced to the needs that exist in the world and equipped with practical and meaningful ways to become responsible global citizens. Students will leave feeling energized, challenged and empowered!
